Golo is a village in the hills to the south of Ig in central Slovenia. The entire Ig municipality is part of the traditional region of Inner Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local parish church, built outside the settlement to the northeast, is dedicated to Saint Margaret (Slovene: Sveta Marjeta) and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana. It is a Baroque building, dating to the 18th century. A prehistoric Iron Age settlement has also been identified on the site around the church.[3]
